Strutts for Mutts is our guided social training walk for dogs and their humans.
This isn't about letting a group of dogs loose to play, and it isn't about expecting every dog to make friends.
It's about learning how to walk, explore and exist around other dogs in a calm, supportive environment — while having a trainer there to help you put your skills into practice.
We take everything you've been learning and bring it into the real world.
Real dogs. Real distractions. Real-life training.
WHAT IS STRUTTS FOR MUTTS?
Think of it as a training session disguised as a really good dog walk.
We meet at different locations around Cornwall and head out together on a relaxed, structured walk.
Along the way, you'll have opportunities to practise:
Walking calmly around other dogs
Neutrality and appropriate social skills
Loose-lead walking
Engagement around distractions
Passing dogs and other real-life triggers
Creating and maintaining appropriate space
Reading your dog's body language
Managing excitement and frustration
Building confidence in new environments
Knowing when to step in — and when to let your dog figure things out
And because a trainer is walking alongside you, you can ask questions, troubleshoot problems and get guidance as situations naturally happen.
No staged scenarios. No perfect training bubble.
Just you, your dog and real life.
WHO'S IT FOR?
You don't need a perfectly behaved dog to join us.
Quite the opposite.
Strutts for Mutts can be brilliant for dogs who:
Are reactive around other dogs
Get over-excited when they see dogs
Need to learn that they don't have to greet everyone
Struggle with frustration on the lead
Need confidence around other dogs or new environments
Have been working on their training and are ready to practise around others
Would benefit from calm, structured exposure
Simply need more experience walking appropriately within a group
It's also for you.
If you find yourself worrying about passing dogs, second-guessing what you should do or avoiding situations because you aren't sure how your dog will cope, this gives you somewhere supportive to practise.
Because confidence needs building at both ends of the lead.
NOT A FREE-FOR-ALL
This bit is important.
Strutts for Mutts is not a traditional socialisation walk where every dog meets, plays or interacts.
Dogs are given the space they need.
Some may eventually walk closer together. Others may need more distance. Some might spend their first walk right at the back of the group.
That's completely okay.
Success isn't your dog making ten new friends.
Success might simply be your dog seeing another dog and realising they can carry on walking.
We meet the dog in front of us.
A DIFFERENT ADVENTURE EACH TIME
Woodlands. Coastal paths. Countryside. Open spaces.
Our locations change, giving you and your dog the opportunity to experience different environments, smells, distractions and challenges.
Because if we want our dogs to cope with the real world, we have to practise in it.
£10 per dog
Walks usually last approximately 1–2 hours.
Spaces are limited so we can keep the group manageable and make sure dogs have the room and support they need.

Joining Strutts for Mutts is simple.
Our upcoming walks are announced on our social media and website, including the date, meeting location and all the details you'll need.
To secure your space, simply get in touch with us and book onto the walk.
Once your place is confirmed, we'll send you the final meeting information and anything you need to know before joining us.
Spaces are kept limited so we can maintain a supportive, manageable group and give every dog the space they need.

Don't worry — you don't need to be an existing training client to join us.
