Six weeks to change more than the behaviour.

Reactive Reset is Woofing Wild's intensive 6-week programme for reactive dogs and the people living at the other end of the lead.

Because reactivity isn't solved by teaching your dog to look at you for a treat.

It's about understanding why your dog reacts, learning how to recognise what they're telling you, changing the way you approach difficult situations and developing the confidence to handle the real world together.

And sometimes, the biggest change needs to happen at both ends of the lead.

Why Reactive Reset?

Living with a reactive dog changes the way you experience everyday life.

You start checking what's around corners. You cross roads when you see another dog. You choose quieter walking times. You tense when an off-lead dog appears. Sometimes you stop going places altogether.

Over time, both dog and owner can become stuck in the same cycle.

Reactive Reset is designed to break that cycle.

Rather than spending six weeks training in the same field, we'll gradually take the skills we develop into controlled setups and then into real-life environments.

The goal isn't to create a dog who suddenly loves every dog, person or trigger they encounter.

The goal is to create a team who can understand, communicate and navigate those situations more confidently together.

WHAT WILL WE WORK ON?

Understanding Your Dog

Before we can change behaviour, we need to understand it.

We'll explore your dog's individual triggers, thresholds, body language, emotional responses and behavioural patterns.

You'll learn to recognise the subtle signs that happen before the bark, lunge or reaction, giving you the opportunity to respond earlier.

Understanding YOU

Reactive Reset isn't solely a dog-training programme.

We'll also look at what happens at your end of the lead.

Your confidence, handling, expectations, decision-making and emotional response to difficult situations can all influence how you navigate reactivity.

This isn't about blaming owners.

It's about giving you the knowledge and practical skills to feel capable rather than frightened of what might happen next.

Real-World Reactivity Training

We believe training needs to work outside of a training field.

Throughout the programme we'll gradually introduce carefully selected, real-world training scenarios.

Depending on the individual dog, we may work around:

Dogs • People • Traffic • Livestock • Busy environments • Movement • Novel environments • Everyday distractions

We'll teach you when to work through a situation, when your dog needs additional distance and when advocating for your dog is the best decision.

Engagement & Communication

We'll develop a communication system between you and your dog that you can actually use when things become difficult.

This may include engagement, disengagement, lead handling, movement, recall, positioning and techniques for safely navigating unexpected situations.

Confidence Building

Not every session needs to revolve around triggers.

We'll also work on helping your dog become more confident within their environment through exploration, appropriate exposure, enrichment and experiences designed around the individual.

Neutrality Over Sociability

Your dog doesn't need to love every dog they meet.

For many reactive dogs, one of the biggest successes is simply being able to see another dog and continue with their day.

Reactive Reset focuses heavily on neutrality and teaching dogs that the presence of another dog, person or trigger doesn't automatically require interaction.

The Human End of the Lead

This is one of the biggest differences within Reactive Reset.

We'll work on rebuilding your confidence too.

You'll learn how to make decisions for your dog, advocate for their space, recover when a reaction happens and stop measuring your success solely by whether your dog reacted that day.

A reaction isn't automatically a failed training session.

Sometimes it's information.

We'll teach you how to use it.

YOUR 6-WEEK RESET

Reactive Reset combines individual training, controlled exposure, owner coaching and real-world practice rather than relying on one type of session.

Your programme includes:

Initial Behaviour Assessment

An in-depth assessment of your dog's history, behaviour, triggers, lifestyle and current training, alongside discussing your own experiences and goals.

Two Supported Sessions Each Week

Six weeks of intensive support allows us to build consistency rather than leaving long gaps between sessions.

Sessions will vary depending on where you and your dog are within the programme and may include individual coaching, controlled training setups and real-world training.

Weekly Training Day

Your dog will also have the opportunity to work directly with us without you present.

This gives us another perspective on their behaviour, allows us to develop skills independently and helps us understand what may be happening between dog and handler.

We can then bring what we've learned back into your sessions together.

Controlled Stooge-Dog Sessions

Where appropriate, our experienced dogs can help us create carefully controlled scenarios where distance and difficulty can be adjusted around your dog's individual threshold.

Real-World Training

We'll leave the comfort of the training field and put your new skills into practice.

Because ultimately, that's where you need them.

Personalised Training Plan

You'll receive training guidance specific to your dog rather than a generic programme handed to every participant.

Six Weeks of Trainer Support

Questions don't only happen during appointments.

You'll have continued support throughout the programme so you can ask questions, discuss situations you've encountered and receive guidance between sessions.

Reactive Reset Community

You'll also become part of a community of people who understand what living with a reactive dog can actually feel like.

No judgement. No embarrassment.

Just people working towards the same thing.

THE GOALS

Success looks different for every dog.

For one owner, success might be walking past another dog across the road.

For another, it might be confidently handling a reaction without panicking.

For another, it could simply be enjoying walks again.

Reactive Reset aims to help you:

Understand your dog's reactivity
Recognise triggers and early body-language signals
Develop stronger communication
Improve engagement around distractions
Build confidence in dog and owner
Reduce the intensity or frequency of reactions where possible
Develop appropriate neutrality around triggers
Improve real-world handling skills
Learn when to train and when to create distance
Advocate confidently for your dog
Recover from setbacks without feeling like you've failed
Create realistic long-term strategies
And ultimately — enjoy your dog again.

FAQS

WHAT REACTIVE RESET ISN'T

We don't promise to "fix" your dog in six weeks.

We won't guarantee that your dog will never react again.

And we're not trying to turn every reactive dog into a dog who wants to play with everyone they meet.

Instead, we're going to give you understanding, skills, confidence and a realistic plan that you can continue long after the six weeks are finished.

Because lasting progress isn't about creating the perfect dog.

It's about creating a better relationship between the dog you actually have and the person they trust to guide them through the world.
